Seine net|Experience fishermen using traditional fishing methods

This hands-on event is held once a year between May and September at Hanaina Beach in Onohara.
The Hanaina Area Seine Harvesting Executive Committee has held this annual event since 1994 to familiarize people with the sea and fish through the traditional fishing method of olden times. Participants work together to haul in a 300-meter-long net set offshore and harvest the bounty of the Seto Inland Sea.
The event is free of charge, and if a large number of fish are caught, everyone can share the catch and take some home with them.
