Kakuzuka burial mound|The largest square burial mound in Kagawa Prefecture

Kakuzuka Tumulus is a burial mound located in Hiratsuka, Onohara, Onohara-cho, Kanonji City. Located adjacent to Onohara Central Park, it is a large square mound with a mound size of approximately 42 x 38 m, the largest in Kagawa Prefecture.
The mound is surrounded by a deep moat, and the overall size, including the moat, is estimated to be about 48 x 45 m. The spatial volume of the stone chamber tends to shrink from the Bowari-zuka tumulus to the Hiratsuka tumulus to the Kakutsuka tumulus, but the length of the environs conversely shows a trend toward increasing in length. The burial facility in the main part is a double-sleeved, side-hole stone chamber that opens to the south-southeast. It is a single-chamber stone chamber, and granite is mainly used as the stone material. The floor area of the chamber is 10.1 m2 and the volume is 25 m3. The back wall and the left wall of the chamber are built in a single-tiered construction.
The excavated artifacts include a Sue ware fragment bowl and a jar. On October 7, 2015, it was designated as a National Historic Site as the Onohara Kofun Tumulus Group.
