The Furusato Gakugeikan is housed in the building of the former Kii Elementary School, and exhibits folk tools and folk materials used in the area from long ago. Visitors can learn about life and agriculture in those days, and workshops are also held to experience life in the old days by actually using folk tools. In addition to exhibits related to nature, such as plants, insects, fossils, and celestial bodies, the museum also exhibits materials related to tangible and intangible cultural assets, such as road signs and nightlights, making it a facility where visitors can learn more about the history and characteristics of their hometown.
