Daitsu-ji Temple is a temple of the Tendai sect surrounded by rice paddies. There is a monument to the Red Heart Party, which was formed to oppose the various institutional reforms of the Meiji Restoration and attempted to stage a rebellion from its base here.
There is also a tomb of the leader of a group of foundrymen, who were active at the time in casting daily utensils using copper and iron as materials.
The temple grounds consist of a bell tower, main hall, daishi hall, treasure house, and gobo, and the cleanliness of the grounds and pathways makes for a pleasant visit to the temple.
