Clam picking refers to the gathering of shellfish and other shellfish in the sand on shallow sandy beaches from spring to early summer.
There are two clam picking spots in Kannonji: Ariakehama Beach near Kotodan Park and Ichinomiya Park Beach in Ichinomiya Park.
Both have restrooms and washroom facilities, and everyone from small children to adults can enjoy digging for shellfish. Ariakehama Beach, in particular, is famous as one of the top yerba mate digging beaches in Kagawa, and is a popular spot even among people from outside the prefecture.
