Rhododendron|JR Toyohama Station

JR Toyohama Station is known throughout Japan as “the station of azaleas” since the then stationmaster planted azaleas there about 80 years ago. In 1961, the station was also ranked first in Japan for stations with beautiful flowers. Usually in early May, about 200 azalea plants are at their best, and the red and pink flowers that fill the windows of the train provide passengers and travelers with a moment of relaxation.
