World Coin Museum

Kannonji City is famous for its “Kan’ei Tsuho” coin-shaped sand paintings. This museum was created in 1988 by volunteer citizens in honor of the zenigata. The museum displays approximately 2,000 coins from 125 countries, as well as coins from various countries and old coins. Visitors can learn about the history and importance of money through easy-to-understand illustrated explanations. There are also rare exhibits such as 100 million yen worth of paper money chips and the world’s largest stone money from the island of Yap.

Masayoshi Ohira Memorial Hall

This is a museum dedicated to Masayoshi Ohira, the 68th and 69th prime minister of Japan. The museum features a variety of exhibitions titled “Masayoshi Ohira: The Hometown and Times that Nurtured Him,” “Masayoshi Ohira Before and After World War II: From Finance Bureaucrat to Politician,” “Masayoshi Ohira the Politician: Going Mainstream Conservative,” “As Foreign Minister in the Tanaka Cabinet: Normalization of Diplomatic Relations between Japan and China,” “The Development of Ohira’s Politics: As Prime Minister,” and “As Prime Minister. -The exhibition is titled “As Prime Minister” and introduces his footsteps as a politician with various photos and documents.

Take the public bus Gogo Takamuro Line from JR Kannonji Station and tell the driver to go to “Kotodan Koen Entrance. There are no bus stops on the public bus and you can get on and off anywhere on the bus route. (However, you are not allowed to get on and off the bus on Route 11 except at designated spots.)
