Wata no Hana|Wada, Toyohama Town

Wata is one of the three whites of Sanuki, and was actively cultivated until around the beginning of the Meiji period. Even today, one can find lovely wata flowers in the fields of the Wadamichimizo district of Toyohama Town. Wata blooms from July to August, and the blue berries grow large in about 50 to 60 days, eventually bursting into cotton around October. Please take a look at the flowers of wata, which are rarely seen anymore.
