At the top of Mt. Unpenji, reached by the Unpenji ropeway, is Unpenji Temple, the 66th temple of the Shikoku Sacred Sites. Unbenji is located on the border between Kagawa and Tokushima prefectures, and although Unpenji is on the Tokushima side of the mountain, it is the first temple on the Sanuki side, and is said to have been opened some 1,200 years ago, when Kobo Daishi was 16 years old. The pilgrimage route from No. 65 Sankaku-ji to No. 66 Unben-ji and No. 67 Daiko-ji has been preserved in its natural state, and many stones have been left behind.

Swing in the Sky

The swings offer a panoramic view of Kanonji City and the Seto Inland Sea. The swings have become a hot topic on social networking sites for their exhilarating feeling as if you are flying in the sky! A special photo stand is available for visitors to take selfies while on the swings. Not only young couples and children, but also pilgrims enjoy taking pictures of themselves on the swings on Saturdays and Sundays.

Photo Frame in the Sky

A special photo stand is provided in front of the photo frame. Like the swing in the sky, the photo frame is made of wood with a stylish image, and is about 2 meters high and 3 meters wide to accommodate your height, making it large enough to take pictures either standing or sitting. Visitors can pose for commemorative photos against the backdrop of a spectacular view of the Seto-ohashi Bridge and Okayama Prefecture, weather permitting.
